5 Things we Loved About Nashville
ByNoel
- The Food – The Hot Chicken, Biscuits and Gravy lived up to their reputation. The Hot Chicken actually exceeded my expectations. We enjoyed a Brunch at Sinema and highly recommend it. The food, service and ambiance were perfect!
- Getting Around – Uber is very reliable in Nashville, from transportation to and from the airport to short rides to restaurants or anyplace else want to go. The drivers were also very friendly offering local advice… one piece being to try to avoid visiting on weekends if you do not like crowds. The driver warned that the crowds get worse than Vegas on weekends. Good to know!
- The Renaissance Hotel – An ideal hotel centrally located yet removed from the lively area (specifically Honky Tonk Row). We could easily walk to all the action but return to our quiet hotel at the end of the day. We were also very pleasantly surprised when they gave us a complimentary upgrade to Club Level. Don’t ever hesitate to ask if upgrades are available. You never know! Club Level would have been worth paying for as it offers a quiet area where you can enjoy snacks throughout the day and desserts at night. It’s a convenience I enjoy!
- The Music – Honky Tonk Row was alive with great, live music all day long! You have your choice of many fabulous bars… Jason Aldean’s, Lukes 32 Bridge, AJ’s Good Time Bar, to name a few. Though we enjoyed peeking in many, but decided to relax at Luke’s for a bit for a drink and excellent entertainment.
- The Grand Ole Opry – Last, but certainly not least, I was very impressed with the Opry…. Meticulously maintained and absolutely beautiful. It is one of those places you can feel the history. I will be returning one day just to take in a show here.
One thing I would like to add to my next visit is a stop at Dollywood. It’s about a 3 ½ hour ride so would require renting a car and flying into Nashville and out of Knoxville Airport (or vice versa). I think that would make a nice add-on to a Nashville getaway!
